Agate Beach

The view of Agate Beach from the parking lot.  It was a pretty steep climb down there.

We happened upon actual woodland creatures on our way down to the beach.  So cute!

About half-way down to the beach.  I love that we basically had the beach to ourselves.

The steep cliffs surrounding the beach.

These big ol' slugs were everywhere.

A crab shell in with the driftwood mix on the beach.

Agate Beach has all kinds of stuff washed up on it.  Allegedly even agates according to Ranger Nancy Jo, who we encountered while we were there.  She inspected all the rocks we'd picked up and gently let us know that we hadn't found any agates but that all of our rocks were winners in her book.

I love how well you can see the grain on this dark piece of driftwood.

We didn't find any agates but we did find two heart-shaped rocks.

There were quite a few starfish along the beach but I couldn't tell if they were alive or dead.  They were all soft though so I thought they might still be alive.

The first starfish we spotted in the water!  Shawna was on a mission to see a starfish in a tide pool this trip.  Consider this mission accomplished.

I liked that the birds were all lined up on the log.
